Some chancer managed to pay for their drinks in a Dublin pub with a €30 note

WE ARE A NATION of chancers, it’s true. But this is a new level of chancery. (Yes, we just made that word up. Deal with it.)
Earlier this week, the staff of Harry Bryne’s pub in Clontarf found something rather interesting while going through the weekend’s takings:

Ah, the fabled €30 note! Rarely seen in the wild.
It appears that the person who handed it in actually got away with it, waltzing away with free drinks in hand. The greatest chancer who ever lived, perhaps?
As for the poor sod who actually accepted the note, well… Harry Byrne’s had this to say.
Sure it could happen to the best of us.
